Mentor Coaching is an important requirement of the ICF Credentialing process and is vital to the development and growth of the individual seeking an ICF Credential.
According to the ICF, Mentor Coaching means: “A credential applicant being coached on their coaching skills rather than coaching on practice building, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of an applicant’s coaching skill.”
Mentor Coaching provides the opportunity to share coaching skills with someone who can provide feedback regarding the use of the ICF Core Competencies. Mentor Coaching should take place over an extended time (typically ten 1 hour sessions) in a cycle that allows for listening and feedback from the Mentor Coach, and reflection and practice on the part of the individual being mentored.
Franz is a ICF registered Mentor Coach for ACC and PCC applicants. He brings many years of experience as ICF credentialing assessor to his work as a Mentor Coach.
